Bentley's Story

Bentley was born May 4th 2016.  He is a European Basset Hound.  The first time we saw his picture we fell in love with him.  While we enjoyed him as a puppy we started training with him so others could enjoy him too.   He received his Canine Good Citizen Certification, Urban Canine Good Citizen Certificate and  Therapy Canine Certificate in 2017.

At the end of June 2018 Bentley was diagnosed with Wobblers Syndrome.  After an MRI we were told if he didn't have surgery he would be paralyzed in weeks.  He had spine surgery on July 3rd to repair his spine.  After months of trips to Annapolis MD for water and laser therapy Bentley continued to improve.  He continues to wear a harness when out and about and is not allowed to go down steps on his own.  He sees his neurologist regularly for check ups.

In November 2019 Bentley bloated multiple times in a week.  After trips to the ER and surgery to attach his stomach to his abdominal wall, he continues to see his internist for check ups.  He also sees his holistic doctor who gives him chiropractic adjustments and also acupuncture treatments.

We started his Instagram in June of 2018 and gained attention after being featured on WGAL TV 8 in 2019.  Bentley goes on adventures almost daily.  With trips all over the area.  Some of his favorite spots are the mountains, Lititz, PA and North East MD just to name a few.

Bentley has had his own ups and downs but he continues to be the sunshine of our lives.  We formed Bentley Waffles Designs to bring his smiling face to everyone in 2020.  Our goal is to make people happy, either virtually or in person.   Bentley loves to wear fashionable hats and custom made clothing, but most of all he loves to socialize and meet people who quickly become his friends.
